CHARLOTTE

C : Hello Armelle ! I heard you had some questions to ask me, so here we go!

Armelle : Hello Charlotte ! Yes sure, i wanted to know Why you chose psychology studies and Why you oriented yourself in social psychology?

Charlotte : I chose psychology because I wanted to stay in scientific studies without leaving in medicine. And I wanted to study with a lot of relationship without going into business. Thus, psychology seemed to be the right compromise. I chose social psychology because I always liked the relationship. In addition, I want to help others to move forward and evolve. Behavioral analysis has always been interesting to me. I wanted to go into social psychology because I wanted to go further and learn to analyze the specificities of the social world.

A : What are your expectations ?

C : My expectations are to have a master and then be able to find a position in which toevolve quickly. I would like to have a position of high responsibility because it is my theme of memory. Indeed, I have always had a certain attraction for management. I love leading a team and making everyone feel good and integrated. My expectations of the master are to be able to learn the useful tools to manage in the best ways. I am also waiting to complete my knowledge of discrimination. In addition, I would like to develop my expertise in consulting to know how to help and improve a company that needs it.

A : what kind of internship do expect ? and why ?

C : I have already found an internship. I hope this one will succeed as I hope. This internship will take place at Air France with a HR manager. Air France Headquarters is located in Paris, Roissy Charles de Gaule. I expect thsee the different methods used by the HRD to manage its teams and observe what are the means implemented for optimal success.

A : By what kind of work would you be interested after your degree ?

C : I would be interested enough to become HRD or consultant for large companies. Before all I would like is power manager. I always love to lead teams and bring my knowledge in a field to others who did not necessarily know each other. I hope to quickly have a position of responsibility.

A : What is your subject of memory and why this choice ?

C : My subject of memory is in adequacy with what I would like to do later. Namely, the social representation of women with high responsibilities in business. I chose this topic because it is where I want to go and I would like to make a depth critique about it. So I want to know everything about the subject to be ready for the future and have the best tools to succeed. I chose this subject also because it is a hot topic, especially the differences between salaries for a similar job or employment discrimination for women. It seems to me important to bring more answers in this area. I think I’m well geared toward this subject.

A : And how do you think this research will help you later ?

C : I think that in the future this research will help me because I will have much more knowledge about women’s discrimination and I will be able to suffer less or better know how to fight against it. It will be interesting to thrive this research. In addition, in the search for a position with high responsibilities, I can assert my knowledge in the field and so it will make the difference with other candidates for example. I really hope to be able to take a new look at these discriminations and to change mentalities as much as possible. Even if I only evolve the mentalities of my entourage, it will already be a victory.

ARMELLE

C : What do you like about social psychology?

A : What i like in social psychology is the understanding of the social and cognitive processes of the man in his social interactions. But also the understanding of interactions and influence between individuals and between groups in the private and professional sphere.

C : What is the theory in psychology that you like the most? and why ?

A : The theory in psychology that I like most is that of social representations. It is a theory at the center of different concepts in psychology: identity, social categorization, attitude, perception, behavior … And it allows an understanding of the construction of the real of each, and the mechanisms involved in the change of individual and collective thoughts.

C : What is the internship you did last year?

A : Last year I did an internship at Kanopé RH: a recruitment firm specializing in the fields of Consulting and Sales in the field of ERP and management solutions (Sage, Cegid, Dynamics, Divalto, SAP, etc.). ).

C : What is your internship project for this year?

A : I do my internship at Kanopé RH. Last year I had two missions: my main mission was recruitment and my secondary mission was the creation of a tool to evaluate employee integration processes. This year the priority of my missions is reversed: I focus on the scientific validation of my evaluation tool.

C : How do you see you later? Describe to me the psychologist that you would like to be?

A : If I were to describe the psychologist I wish to become, I would say a versatile psychologist, curious and enterprising. More specifically, I want to be versatile in my fields of intervention, my activities: recruitment, audit, support for changes etc. Curious in learning discipline and knowledge complementary to social psychology to enrich our practice. I am thinking for example of modules, or DU in ergonomics or psychosocial risks etc. Curious also in the follow-up of the evolutions of the companies, the digital, technological which can influence our profession. For example in the recruitment sector, the impact of the evolution of digital in candidate search, or the law on data protection in the context of audits, research for the collection of data. Then one of the interests for me as a psychologist is that we never finished training: it’s a way to be humble in your practice and always questioning yourself to improve. Entrepreneur because I want to be an actor within my company: I refuse to be only an employee, I want to be in the decision-making process of the firm. I recognize that this requirement will be problematic during my job search. That’s why I want to work in small firms like Kanope RH, or start my own business once I graduate.

C : Has your psycho social representation evolved since the M1?

A : (M1 very theoretical and M2 more practical) In itself, my representation of social psychology has not really evolved. What I can say however is that in Master 1 the contributions in social psychology are very theoretical and it is not always obvious to see the application of the concepts on the ground. In Master 2, the lessons are more concrete and we apply our knowledge in our case studies and exchanges: we are really on a more professional side.

C : Clinical psycho or psycho social, why towards the social?

A : When I started my degree in psychology, I headed for the field of clinical psychology and more specifically in gerontology. It was after a 2 weeks internship in a recruitment office between my L1 and my L2 that I started to get interested in social psychology: my heart started to swing between the two. During an associative experience with the Little Brothers of the Poor in L2 and L3 I admit that clinical psychology is not the field that suits me the best. To be more precise, I made weekly visits to an isolated elderly person and felt that I did not have the necessary perspective to address the suffering of others. It is this observation which led me, after obtaining my degree in psychology, to orient myself in social psychology.

C : Thank you very much for your answers ! Bye Bye
