Lucie : Hi, i’mLucie and I’m going to ask you some questions, but firstable can you briefly introduce yourself please ?
François : Yes, of course. I am François Hérault, I’m a student of university of Nantes, in psychology, IO psychology.
L : Ok. So… What is your professionnal project ? What qualities do you think you have that fit this project.
F : Ok. My professional project is to be able to work in the field of accompaniment of Human at work. The actions I want to achieve include improvements in the working conditions of employees, health at work and well-being at work. It would be a question of answering the various requests of the organizations that would call on me on to… call me to allow them to maintain or improve their productivity, while keeping the human being at the center of the actions. The guideline of my practice would be the improvement of the quality of life at work of employees. For that, I want to realize adapted organizational interventions and personalized to each need. The activities I want to achieve are: the prevention of professional risks, the management of crisis situations, support in the management of change, the creation and implementation of training plans, the recruitment of suitable profiles and mediation for example. I think that my main qualities to realize this project are my motivation and perseverance which are really important to succeed to realize all my projects.
L : Great. So, Can you describe your ideal future work environment ?
F : Yes. I like working outdoors, but I also like being able to interact with colleagues so that I can have their opinion and confront our opinions to improve my work. So I think that my ideal work environment would be an open space, to be in contact with all my colleagues. But in an environment that allows me to external access. I don’t see myself working in a building without having a view of green spaces. The last criterion for my ideal work environment would be to be able to customize my space, add photos or plant on my desk. I really need to fit my space to feel comfortableat work.
L : Ok. So tell me about your university career ? Have you always wanted to study social psychology ?
F : So, in terms of my academic background, I started my degree in psychology in 2011. I did not continue with the master after validating my license for various reasons. I only went back to university last year to get my degree and work at… in an area that interests me really. I have not always wanted to do IO psychology, but I have always wanted to work in an environment in contact with people, where it would be a question of helping them. At the end of my degree, I hesitated between clinical psychology and IO psychology. But the criterion that allowed me to choose is the greatest amount of IO psychology opportunities once graduated. In any case, I think all areas of psychology are closely related and that a good professional must be competent in all areas of psychology.
L : Ok. If you had to choose an alternative career, which one would you choose and why ?
F : Before entering in the first year of my degree in psychology, I was still hesitating between psychology and being a specialized educator. I always wanted… Excuse me, I always have been interested in helping people who want to succeed,especially young people who really want to do something in their lives, but who do not necessarily have the means. With a little hindsight, I think that I might not have the patience to work with children or teenagers, but I could have liked at least some time. So, if I had to choose another career today, I think I will choose mana… I will choose management. What attracts me the most this job… in this job is the opportunity to accompany people in their work so they feel good or better.
