Eva: Hi, nice to meet you! I’m Eva! I’m 22 years old, I’m from Vendée and I’m in the second year of the IO psychology master in the University of Nantes. And you, Who are you?

Mathilde: Hi, Eva ! I’m Mathilde ! I’m 21 years old and I’m from Vendée too. I’m student in M1 Social psychology in Nantes.

Eva: Oh, That nice, we do the same master… I’m curious, Why did you choose it?

Mathilde: I started to study psychology because I was curious about how the human brain works. During my licence, I discovered social psychology, and I fell in love with it. I already was interested in recruitment and human resources so this master was the perfect choice for me. And you, are you in this master for the same reason?

Eva: After I was graduated from high-school, I did all my studies in Nantes. First, I came in psychology to become a sort of “profiler” you know? Even if psychology wasn’t what I expected, I persevered thanks to social psychology. I can’t really explain why I do appreciate it, perhaps, as far I’m concerned, it’s because it’s the most relevant in everyday life. For now, do you have a first impression of the master?

Mathilde: At the beginning I wondered why I was here. I was not sure that I made the goodchoice, you know? Moreover, 2 people left so I had to motivate myself. Now I feel better and I really like what I do. I just hope that the M2 is going to be as fine or better!

Eva: It depends on your preferences. There are some differences between the first and the second year. In fact, the second year is more dedicated to I/O psychology, even if we still have some environmental psychology for example. I think it’s too bad because I really appreciate this field, I even did my master’s thesis about! Speaking of it, what is your master’s thesis about?

Mathilde: I want to work on psychosocial risks factors and the link they have with the performance and the well-being at work. You told me that you were working on the environmental psychology, but on what exactly?

Eva: My Master’s Thesis is about the tiger mosquito risk perception. In what extent high-risk populations see themselves like that? In fact, I linked my master’s thesis with my internship in the first year, by doing the latter in the laboratory of psychology in Nantes! And you, do you want to link your internshipwith your master’s thesis?

Mathilde: For my first internship, I don’t have specific ideas. Of course I’d like to work in human resources or realize recruitment missions but I know that companies prefer M2 students so I think that I’m going to take anything that fit with social psychology. So my internship will not be necessarily connected with my research paper. What will be your internship in M2?

Eva: I just found it! I will work for the urban community of La Rochelle as a psychological risk prevention advisor. I’m really happy for having found something around the risk and I look forward to starting! From what I understood, is this recruitment your professional project?

Mathilde: Yes, I’m really interested by recruitment. I’d like to work in the human resources of a company or in a company specialized in the recruitment. I suppose that you already know what you’re going to do after your M2…

Eva: Almost! I really want to work in the risk prevention area, but I don’t know if I want to do it in a research field like my first internship or in a professional field like my second internship. I will see after the latter! Do you have any questions left?

Mathilde: Do you have useful tips to succeed in this master?

Eva: Well… Do not hesitate to speak with the teachers or the professional about their professional career to learn more about what you can do after being graduated and do not hesitate to move to find the internship that you really want!

Mathilde: Ok, thank you!

Eva: Bye !
