In view of the current health situation, Camille and I had to rethink the way to register. In order not to impact the relevance of the podcast, each of us asked friends to play the missing roles. Here, Camille is therefore interpreted by a man.

Script :

Camille – Hello !

Lucie – Hi !

Présentateur – You are here because you have registered and answered a lot of questions on our website. From the answers you gave, we were able to form your pair. You don’t know each other, you have normally never met, but you seem to have a lot in common. So, I am going to let you discuss and find them!

*Door slam*

Camille – Hi … Nice to meet you … So, are you a student or are you working yet ? (1)

Lucie – Hi, I’m a student in a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Nantes.

Camille – Oh, great we’ve got something in common ! Maybe we’ve already met each other in the corridors of the university because I’m in this master’s degree too, in my first year !

Lucie – Oh congratulations, you’re going to see it’s a great training! Have you always wanted to be a psychologist?

Camille – Not at all ! Since my childhood, I wanted to be a veterinarian ‘cause I love animals and taking care of them. In order to ensure this, I did a preparatory class to get into a veterinary school but I realized that it was not what I was yearning to do anymore. Even though I loved science, I wasn’t much interested in biology and veterinary care.

Lucie – I understand what you mean and I think that the attraction to science is another thing we have in common ! I myself started with a common first year in health studies with the idea of getting the medical exam. Being a pediatrician was my little girl dream… but in the end, the medical side wasn’t in keeping with me. I wanted more to be in the support of the others. Did you do all your degrees at the University of Nantes?

Camille – Yes, Almost , I only did one semester in Tbilisi, in Georgia. And you, did you study abroad with the Erasmus program ?

Lucie – No I’ve never studied a year abroad, I don’t think that’s part of our common points ! How was it ? (3)

Camille – Very enriching, I enjoyed discovering another culture : the Georgians are particularly warm and the dishes they cook are amazing ! Regarding the courses, it was very interesting to be confronted with a different vision of psychology, even if it’s not a very developed discipline in this country.

Lucie – It must have been great, it’s always very informative to discover a new culture, I hope one day to have the opportunity to live such an experience!

Camille – I hope so! Speaking of experience, you must have done many internships I suppose since the beginning of your studies ?

Lucie – Yes, I have had the opportunity to do different internships in different environments. I started with an observation internship in addictology. I also did internships in private practice and in child psychiatry! What about you?? (4)

Camille – I also did a few internships, but they were quite short, I can’t wait to continue these experiences in a Master’s program! It’s funny, I would really like to do an internship in child psychiatry too! With which psychologists did you do your internships in private practice ?

Lucie – Oh yes, the attraction for child psychiatry must be one of our common points! As far as the liberal is concerned, I had the opportunity to do one with Mrs. Nothername and a second one with Mr. Hidunno. It was great, Mr Hidunno is specialized in EMDR, it’s very interesting as a technique, especially for the desensitization of post-traumatic stress syndromes! Have you ever heard about it? (5)

Camille – Yes, Mr Hidunno ? It’s incredible, I did my internship with him too !

Lucie – Oh but it’s crazy, it’s a small world ! I think we just found another one of our common points, there is no doubt about it. Speaking of psychological concepts, are there any you’d like to study in particular? (6)

Camille – Yes, emotional regulation! This is a theme that has fascinated me since I discovered it in my Bachelor 2. I would like to tackle this subject in my dissertation this year! And you, is it a subject that interests you? (5)

Lucie – You know what? I’m currently working on my dissertation on the link between endometriosis and emotions. These are very interesting mechanisms to understand in order to highlight personality profiles, I could give you some readings if you’re interested in it.

Camille – Oh yes, that would be really nice! Your dissertation topic sounds very interesting, which teacher do you study with ? (6)

Lucie – It is Mrs Leborgne who supervises me.

Camille – Oh, this is not a common point, I will be supervised by Mrs. Rommel, I will work on the effects of improvisational theater on self-esteem, emotional awareness and emotional regulation capacities.

Lucie – It seems to me very interesting as a project, I would be delighted if we discuss it more at length from time to time!

Camille – With pleasure !

Présentateur – Well I think we’re coming to the end of the time for this interview. I hope you were able to get to know each other and find what you got in common !

Lucie – It was great, thank you very much!

Camille – Yes, thank you very much, I think we found many of them !
