Nathan : Hello Lucy, as you already know, today we will make a short podcast about you and your projects, and, to do that, I am gonna ask you a few questions… if you agree of course ! … Ok, let’s start…

1. In a few sentences, can you introduce yourself and your academic training?
– 22 years old – Actually, I’m doing studies of psychology at the University of Nantes. I’m doing, a master of social, institutional and organisational psychology.
– I got my degree at the University of Toulouse.
– I discovered human sciences at the high school.
– I wanted to be a social worker but I wasn’t admitted to a DU option social careers so I decided to go to university.
– I’m curious that why I preferred to discover a new discipline of human sciences
2. What is your professional project? In which field do you want to work?
– After my graduation, I may want to work in human resources but I don’t yet know in which field.
– Indeed, I have only flown over one branch of human resources: recruitment.
– I need to do more internships
3. What are your goals for this year?
– I just have one goal this year : to do an internship that really corresponds to my studies to get experience and, above all, to have a concrete idea of what I want to do after the master’s degree.
– Otherwise, like everyone else in my class, I want to graduate.
– I want to finish my studies
4. In your opinion, what is the main theory in social psychology that influences your way of thinking? Why?
– The main theory that influences my way of thinking is that of causal attribution of Heider.
– In my opinion, we are all guided by a natural survival instinct, which is why our brains focus on three elements: understanding, explaining and anticipating.
– we take what we can get at hand to try to explain everything.
5. How was your Master 1 internship? Have you encountered difficulties or situations that are difficult to manage?
– I did an internship in an interim agency specialising in construction and public works.
– This internship was horrible, really ! I was an administrative assistant to them, not a future psychologist.
– I did the ungrateful tasks. It was exhausting and on top of that, the manager was never happy with me and didn’t even say thank you.
6. Is there any advice you could give to a young carefree M1 student?
– Since we are talking about internships, I advise you to be well informed about the internships we offer you and especially about the missions we offer you.
– Then, I’d just tell you to hold on and enjoy everything because there’s more to life than just studying!

Lucy : Okay, now we can say that you’re getting to know me, but who are you Nathan ? Now it’s your turn to answer my questions… I mean, if you agree, of course ! … Okay, go!

1. First, can you introduce yourself and your academic training you too?
– I’m here in Nantes, for 6 years.
– During high school I was in an athlete scholarship,
– So, I came in faculty of psychology because I wanted to be sport psychologist relative to my experience.
– Now I’m in love of the social psychology and particularly about management and the intervention in the organisations.
2. Often, when you say you’re a psychology student, people think you’re going to be “the guy who’s going to judge them on his chair” or the “mentalist”. And you, how did you see psychology before you went to college? – Before I went to the University, I was thinking that psychology was only clinical.
– I didn’t know the lot of variety who existed in.
– They think we can read in their mind or that we are paid to listen people problems, this is sad.
3. Among the five main areas of psychology (including neuropsychology) you studied in your undergraduate degree, why did you choose IO and social psychology ? – During the last 3 years all the areas of psychology interested me
– I was really motivated and passionate by group processes and all the phenomenon which appears in life like conformism, judgement processes, quality of life and management.
4. In which field of psychology would you like to do your internship of M1 ? And why ? – In fact, I already have my M1 internship.
– He is a social psychologist who work on various type of society problems
– I met him last year for an observation internship in Licence 3, where I worked with him during 2 months on his current studies.
5. Did what I told you about the internships make you think? You were aware that you could be “trapped”, in a way, like that? – To be honest I already had a reflection about this question, when Nicolas, my internship supervisor, proposed to me this M1 internship
– I ask myself is this was a good idea to return in a situation that I know with a professional that I know too.

6. In your opinion, what is your best quality as a future psychologist and your preferred tool until now? – My qualities as an observer and my “think before you act” side are a good point as a future psychologist.
– I really like individual or group interviews because they allow to explore a theme and then to clarify the answers of our participants.
