I have worked on the social representation of women with high responsibilities in the french population. It was conducted among 154 participants, according to six categories : 88 women and 66 men, 87 with a higher study level than 68 with undergraduate degree, and 57 working in the private sector and 54 in the public sector. This representation was studied thanks to the technique of free association, informing us about the constitution of the central nucleus, the periphery and the valence. Thus, thanks to a prototypical analysis supported by a collection of data according to a free association, it is possible to observe the existence of a difference of social representation according to the different groups. It is necessary to know that selfhood leads to thinking differently. Indeed, women seem to have a more positive outlook than men, levels higher license more positive than the lower ones, and those of the private more positive than the public. Part of the explanation lies in the mechanisms of identity that are embedded in social studies.  The aim of this study is to show the need for awareness raising to limit this discrimination and thus promote better social integration of women with high responsibilities.

Women, now, have access to positions of high responsibility, which was not the case a few years ago. It is a question of what has changed to make it possible. However, it seems difficult to assess the social representation that the different populations had during this period. On the other hand, aware of this postulate, we must ask ourselves what it will be like in the next ten years and thus observe the evolution of social representations.

Words I have learned :

Selfhood : individualité

Embedded : intégré

Awareness : conscience

Prototypical : prototypique
