This topic is about working too much and the consequences. Giving yourself 100 percent in your work means using all your intellectual and physical abilities to do your job correctly, in other words, investing 100 percent. These are great expectations, but in reality, how can you avoid overworking yourself at work? When do we go too far? Because accept that it’s physically and mentally impossible to function 100 percent all the time in your job.

First of all, work is defined as “an organized activity of transforming the world on behalf of others”. It differs from leisure, which in turn is always for the individual’s own account.

When you give a lot in your job, it becomes imperative to be careful and keep in mind that it’s not necessarily a source of fulfilment to give your all. Indeed, while some see it as a way to be accomplished, work isn’t always a pleasant activity.

The etymology of the term relates to suffering. In Latin “tripalium” means an instrument of torture. The term “work” is used to refer to working conditions, the result of work and the actual work activity. Some authors in 2010 point out that 70% of French employees give work a very important place. Argue that this is the highest rate among all European countries. However, more than among all other European countries, 65% of French employees find that work takes up too much space in their life. It is also a word used to refer to “psychological torment” (it works for me) or “physical suffering” (the working room). As a result, suffering at work seems almost natural.

It’s by realizing that we can put to work back in its rightful place. This is the same about the recognition of the individual at work. Indeed, it’s certain that most of the time, everyone wants to do their job well and feel proud of the results, to be recognized in their structure for doing a good job.

When something happens, peoples aren’t usually aware of the frustration’s feeling that arises in them. They will tend to let it go and continue the pace. However, peoples don’t have to hesitate to go see the superior before being overwhelmed with discouragement. This is the best way to avoid overwork. The most important thing is to preserve mental health.

In addition, people must know how to find a balance between professional and personal life. They have to know how to find a balance, their own balance between the personal and the professional. Indeed, behind each point of view on work hides “a personal vision of life”. And it’s this vision that allows everyone to sort things out on a daily basis.

To conclude, giving oneself to work is important for peoples because it allows them to feel satisfaction and recognition, but if we don’t discern enough the percentage of oneself that we give to his work, then peoples create their own suffering that will affect both of professional and personal lives. Nevertheless, solutions exist. For example, communicate. When an individual begins to feel that their work is taking up too much space, they need to talk to those around them for referrals. He must also know how to set his own limits in order to preserve himself and especially his health.
